The Gransfors Bruk Small Handheld Felling Hatchet is the lightest of all the axes from Gransfors Bruk, making it perfect for hiking, when every kilo counts. The axe is excellent for limbing and splitting firewood, despite its diminutive size. The Small Hatchet was developed by Lennart Pettersson (LP), axe smith, knife smith and keen angler, who was looking to create a very light axe that still retained that axe feel. The slightly rounded poll on this mini hatchet functions like a ‘priest’ (used to hit fish over the head).

Love it

Needed to round put my axe equipment. Already have a felling axe, and a small Forrest axe but needed a small hatchet for finer more tedious work. Balances well, very sharp, and will fit my needs perfectly. In the process of conditioning the handle with boiled linseed oil before taking g it out in the field.

This little guy is fantastic hatchet for carving and batoning kindling. This is probably my 7th GFB axe so I am a bit of a fanboy.

Great lil chopper

Although pricey for a small hatchet. The quality is phenomenal and performs very well for such a small package. Very light and compact. It cuts, chops and could take the place of a knife for carving and cutting tasks.
